Abstract

This study objective to determine the cause of shade and planting media on the vegetative growth of strawbery plants (Fragaria x ananassa). This study uses a devided plot design (RPT)  with two factorial. As the main plot, the shelter consists of 3 levels, namely  : TO (without shelter), T1 (50%), T2 (75 %). As subplots, the composition of the growing media consists of 3 level of composition in the form of soil : charcoal : manure consisting of 3 levels, namely :  M1= 2:1:1, M2=1:2:1, M3=1:1:2. The results showed that there was an interaction between shade (T)  and planting  media (M) on plant height 42 dap and number of leaves ages 28, 35, and 42 HST. While separately the shade provides a significant influence on the height of strowberry plants aged 28, 42, 56 and 63 HST, leaf area ages 49, 56 and 63 HST. Wet strover and dry weight and planting media have a significant influence on the height of strowberry canopy age 28 HST, number of leaves aged 28 HST and leaf area aged 28  and 35 HST. Vegetative growth of stroberry plants tends to be found at a shade of 50% ang growing media (soil: charcoal: mature) with a ratio of M = 1 :1:3
