IDENTIFIKASI FAKTOR-FAKTOR PENYEBAB MENURUNNYA TENAGA BURUH TANI DI DESA DUWET KECAMATAN TUMPANG KABUPATEN MALANG

Abstract

This research was conducted in Duwet village, Tumpang Sub-District, Malang Regency in 2017. Duwet Village was chosen because this village is located on the suburb of Tumpang District and the majority of its population work as farmers. The design of this research is descriptive research with the qualitative approach. The subjects of this research are farmer of the landowner in Duwet Village, Tumpang District of Malang Regency and research object are factors causing the decreasing of farm laborers in the village. The results showed that there has been a decline in the number of farm laborers in the village of Duwet. The Factors that cause the lowest a quantity of labor in the agricultural sector such as (a) the increased level of education Duwet villagers, (b) the development of home industry in the Duwet village so that open employment opportunities for workers in the region. The impact of the decline farm laborers in Duwet village is the disturbance of the stages in the cultivation are included of land reverse 41.66%, 58% reverse planting time, 61.11% not optimal treatment, and uncultivated land 25%. The solution farmers take to overcome these impacts is to use mechanization in land treatment, using mulch and herbicide to overcome the problem of weeding and selection of plant commodities. The decline in the availability of agricultural laborers in Duwet village will eventually lead to higher production costs, thus reducing farmers' income. If this happens continuously then farming in Duwet village will not be efficient anymore, so farmers will lose. Even a small number of farmers have moved their commodities to corn, cassava, and plantation crops (sugar cane and timber)
