Abstract

This study aims to determine the intensity of the fire caterpillar pests (Setora n itens) in oil palm plantations in crop yield (TM) in the District Singingi Hilir. The method used dal am this research is survey and interviews in the oil palm plantation land Farmers Group Overlay Rizki on crop yield with total area of 20 ha. Plant sampling at each location were divided into four plots. Each plot was taken 100 samples of plants to be observed with a five point pattern with 20 points of each sample. The parameters observed were the condition of the area of oil palm cultivation, description of pests and damage, intensity of attack and the level of pest caterpillar attack. Based on research dil akukan can be concluded that the average - average intensity of the fire caterpillar pests was 51% (Weight). The highest rate of pest caterpillar attack was in May at 9.40 and the lowest was in June at 1.70. P erbedaan intensity of pest attack affected by bididaya techniques, and high intensity fire caterpillar pests is influenced by several factors ranging from biological factors as well as the loss of natural enemies of climatic conditions
