Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Atonic concentration and immersion time of 6.5 L in breaking the dormancy of seed and early growth of Sunkist cultivar citrus seedlings, conducted at UNIDHA Integrated Farming Laboratory, from April to July 2013.The experimental design used was: Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with factorial experiment. The first factor is a variety of Atonic concentrations of 1.6 L (K) and the second factor is the duration of immersion (W). Factor I: Atonic Concentration [K0 = without Atonic; K1 = Atonic concentration of 1.25 cc / liter; K2 = Atonic concentration 2.5 cc / liter], and Factor II: Duration of Immersion Time [W1 = 1 hour of immersion time; W2 = 2 hours of immersion time]. Six treatment combinations were obtained, and each treatment combination was repeated four times and each experimental unit was replicated three times. The results of the study as: (a) There was an interaction between concentration and duration of immersion time in observation of 3 MST and 4 MST, while the other treatment combinations were not found interaction between treatments, (b) The single treatment factor analysis showed that Atonik's best concentration was 2.5 cc / liter and immersion time for 1 hour, (b) The best treatment combination in the germinated velocity observation variables, the percentage of seed life, seed height, number of leaflets and seedling area were K2W1 and followed by K1W1 treatment, (d) The fastest growing germination rate was 10 days after planting on K2W1 treatment, (e) The largest percentage of seed life is K2W1 treatment of 100% germinating seeds and the least germinate is the treatment of K0W2 of 33%, (f) The average seedling height (K2W1) The highest average was obtained from the K2W1 treatment with a height of 5.87 cm, while the lowest was in the K0W2 treatment with an average of 1.78 cm, (g) The largest for sum of leaflets was obtained from the K2W1 treatment of 3.08 and the least with an average of 1.25, and (h) The largest total leaf area in the K2W1 treatment was 29.71 cm2 and the narrowest in the K0W2 treatment with an average of 5.42 cm2
