DAMPAK PANDEMI COVID-19 TERHADAP USAHATANI KUNYIT DI DESA KAMBINGAN, KECAMATAN TUMPANG, KABUPATEN MALANG
Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has hit globally in all countries in the world, including our country, Indonesia. The impact of this condition affects all sectors of life ranging from health, politics, economy, socio-culture and so on. The agricultural sector has not been spared the impact of this pandemic. The government's policy with the implementation of PSBB or Large-Scale Social Restrictions forced people not to leave their homes. This certainly greatly affects the farmers in managing their farming activities. However, the hope for turmeric farmers is still low because of the large public interest in consuming herbal medicine which is believed to increase the body's resistance to ward off Covid-19 which has an impact on increasing demand and the price of turmeric in the market. The research location is in Kambingan Village, Tumpang District, Malang Regency. The purpose of this study was to find out what the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic were felt by turmeric farmers and whether turmeric farming was still feasible during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the study show that the Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact, including (1) Difficulty in finding farm laborers resulting in an increase in daily wages (2) An increase in fertilizer prices due to limited access between regions so that fertilizer supply is disrupted (3) A decrease in turmeric production due to business management farmers who are not optimal, (4) The increase in the price of turmeric both at the market and at the farmer level
